The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo held a send-off ceremony for Capricorn District Municipality Staff who will be running in the Comrade Marathon to be held on 11 June 2023 in Kwazulu Natal from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. The farewell ceremony was held on 07 June 2023 in Polokwane at CDM Executive Mayorβs Boardroom in Polokwane.βWe are grateful that we have people at work who are promoting the wellness. We are therefore saying that go down there and represent us. We are grateful to you. Go and run the ultimate human race. The biggest race in Africaβ Executive Mayor Teffo said.
The team that will be going to Durban is Maropeng βRockyβ Mojela, Patience Mboweni, and Martin Manamela.
The Executive Mayor encouraged them by saying they should go there and represent the District.
βPlease do it for the district, the colleagues, your friends, and your family, but mainly is about representing yourself,β she said.
βWe appreciate this send-off Executive Mayor, we appreciate the support given to us. We will representβ Patience Mboweni representing the team.
The Chief Whip also added by saying that he is very excited that we have a team internally who will represent Capricorn District Municipality.
