Capricorn District Municipality signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Capricorn TVET College on learnership work placement program. The signing took place during a meeting held on 07 June 2023 at CDM Executive Mayor’s Boardroom in Polokwane.This follows a meeting held on the 10th of March 2023, wherein Capricorn District Municipality met with Capricorn TVET to deliberate on a partnership between the two parties on skills development, leanership placements and work-based experience to benefit Capricorn TVET students.
The two parties met led by the Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, and the administration to sign the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU). The Capricorn TVET was led by the Principal, Mr Mamabolo who was accompanied by his management team.
The MOU mainly focuses on those who want to become process controllers and technicians at CDM’s waste-water treatment plants.
“We are very humbled by this partnership. We thank CDM for allowing us to sign a memorandum of understanding. This is a huge milestone for us. As we will be producing skilled learners, we plan that they should contribute back to government programs.” Mr. Mamabolo said.
The principal Mr Mamabolo and the Municipal Manager, Mr. Ramakuntwane Selepe led the signing of the MOU.
“I hope this partnership benefits all the learners. Let it be a long-term partnership” the Executive Mayor said.
