Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo has on 21 November 2023 addressed a business breakfast session of Lepelle Northern Water, which marked the launch of Olifantspoort-Ebenezer upgrade project. This mega-project is set to alleviate water supply challenges in the province.“Partnership with Lepelle Northern Water is the soul of the municipalities’ ability to meet the growing demands for water and I know Mayors agree that communities deserve nothing less than reliable, consistent water supply, and that, the most important mandate that every municipality wants to get right, is the delivery of portable water”, Executive Mayor said, adding that Limpopo is predominantly rural and one of the poorest in the country, which should receive special attention in terms of bulk water infrastructure to speed up water supply. And “We are pleased that Lepelle Northern Water has responded appropriately with this upgrade project of Olifantspoort and Ebenezer schemes in order to service us better”.
The session was also attended by other Mayors, traditional leaders, business forums and the ratepayers associations.
