Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, Premier Chupu Mathabatha, Molemole Mayor, Cllr Edward Paya and other dignitaries paid their last respects to Kgoši Kgwadu Machaka at Machaka Royal House in Botlokwa under Molemole Local Municipality. Kgoshi Machaka passed on, on 05 November 2023 and was laid to rest on 17 November 2023 at Botlokwa.
Honoring Kgoshi Machaka, the Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr Mamedupi Teffo said that Kgoshi Machaka through his visionary leadership, he brought robust engagements with fortitude and served as a fountain of wisdom and counsel to the municipality, and his commitment to uplifting his communities was felt by everyone in all forums with traditional leaders.
“In every challenge we encountered, he saw an opportunity to change lives. In every engagement, he saw an opportunity to represent the interests of this community and share its collective plight with us,” said Cllr Teffo
“He was a symbol of continuity, linking the past to the present and laying the foundation for tomorrow. He will be remembered for his commitment to preserve our cultural heritage for present and future generations of Batlokwa,” the Executive Mayor continued.
She further called on everyone to carry forward the torch of Kgoshi Machaka’s vision. And she wished the traditional authority and the community strength in these difficult time.
Also in attendance to pay their last respects was the Premier of Limpopo Chupu Mathabatha, His Grace the Right Reverend Dr B.E Lekganyane, leadership of CONTRALESA, the House of Traditional Leaders, Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality Cllr John Mpe, Mayor and Speaker of Molemole Municipality, Cllr Edward Paya and Cllr Dikeledi Matlou, and other leaders.
