EM’s PROJECT VISIT TO RESOLVE TIKILINE WATER CHALLENGES

They went around checking the current infrastructure. Two boreholes are currently servicing the community. The Executive Mayor and the team resolved that they would drill an extra borehole because the community was growing. As of today, the operations and maintenance team has started the process of sourcing all the infrastructure required to do all the work. The municipality is looking into arranging a meeting with the community to talk about this and give progress in this regard. The municipality will in the meantime come up with temporary measures, to bring water to Springfield.

The community is urged not to interfere with the water pumping operations. Another challenge that was raised was illegal water connections within the community, members of the community are urged to refrain from this practice.
