“A staff member of a Municipality is a public servant in a developmental local government system and therefore must be committed to serving the public and a collective sense of responsibility for performance in terms of standards and targets and participate in the overall Performance Management and Development System (PMDS) of the municipality as well as the staff members individual performance evaluation and reward system to maximize the ability of the municipality to achieve its objectives”.
This emanates from PMDS, which states that a municipality must adopt a PMDS that complies with the provisions of this. CDM has long adopted the PMDS.
Today, COGHSTA is at CDM conducting a training induction to the Municipal Performance Moderation Committee to the Moderation Committee and led by Mme Georginah Hlungwani.
The induction is led by the Municipal Manager, Mr Ramakuntwane Selepe, with all his managers.
CDM is one of the municipalities in the province that is implementing Performance Management System, which is cascaded down to the lower level. This training will assist in setting clear performance indicators and performance targets by communicating to staff members how their roles contribute to the success of the municipality.
