Capricorn District Municipality continues to leave up to its vision as the ‘Home of Excellence’. The district municipality has scooped two awards at the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Municipal Audit Awards for Achieving clean audit and for 100% spending of the Municipla Infrastructure Grant (MIG).
The awards meant that Capricorn was able to account for all the money that was spent, that there was no wastefull or fruitless expenditure and that no money was returned to the National Treasury as a result of under-spending the MIG.
The awrds were received by the Executive Mayor and Mmebers of the Mayor Commette, the Chief Audit Officer and the Municipal Manager. The clean audit is an indication of a clear commitment from both political and administrative leadership to ensure that public funds are spend accordingly.
