CDM train water and sanitation ward committees

Capricorn District Municipality ward committees were offered training on 25 June 2019 at Miami Lodge in Polokwane. The three day training was offered to ward committees responsible for water and sanitation from Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality and Blouberg Municipality.

The fifty-two ward committee members are in the water and sanitation portfolio committtees. The ward committees were trained on understand their roles in facilitation of development and service delivery in communities.

The training which was accredited by the Local Government Seta will give participants 20 credits out of the 120 needed to get a National Certificate in Ward Committee Standards.

The training focused on the:

       – Ward committees and their roles and responsibilities on project management and monitoring,

       – Display an understanding of the policy and legal framework guiding the ward committee system and its functioning,

       – Support the facilitation of development project service delivery in a ward committee context

A similatr training will continue in the new fiancial year 2019/2020 for ward committes in Polokwane and Molemole Local Municipalities.
