CDM sent learners to Jabaweni Bootcamp

Capricorn District Municipality organised a Matric Boot camp  for learners as part of intervention towards instilling a sense of commitment and hardwork to Grade 12 learners. The five day bootcamp was held at Jubaweni Young Camp in Modimolle in the Waterberg District. The matric intervention programme was of interest to CDM, as a developmental municipality, because, in the final analysis, our overall development as a District is very much dependent on how well learners are progressing with their education.

CDM sent 200 learners to the bootcamp on Sunday 01 October 2017 to capacitate them on Maths and Science. It is important that, from time to time, we also ensure that, as a municipality, SALGA, Department of Education, educators and SGBs, we create space for learners to continuously improve themselves, hence this Bootcamp!

The official closing of the bootcamp was held on 05 Octpber 2017. As part of recap of the week learners wrote an assessment test and the camp also covered revision work. There are high hopes that the outcomes of the revision classes will lead to learners in the District being star performers; capable of making a positive contribution towards the society that we aspire to be.

Capricorn District Municipality would like to wish all learner good luck on the upcoming examinations.
