CDM READY FOR THE 2025 RACE

With a week to go before the race, on 05 February 2025, the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo led a registration activation blitz at the Mall of the North in Polokwane to urge all interested runners not to wait for the last-minute rush to register, but to book their place in the race by registering online (peaktiming.co.za). Entry statistics indicate that there is huge interest in all categories – 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km; and there might be long queues at the venue on the eve of the race and this might oversubscribe some distances or categories.

The Executive Mayor vowed during the launch to participate in the 21km race. “To the runners, we invite you to join us once again. If you have never run before, lace up your running shoes and embrace the challenge while connecting with fellow social runners on the road. This marathon is not just about covering a chosen distance; it is about conquering a personal battle and achieving a milestone you might never have imagined”, she said.

The marathon enables runners to prepare and qualify for Two Oceans and Comrades marathons. The race will be hosted in partnership with Polokwane Athletic Club, sponsored by Mercurius Motors Polokwane. The race will start at 05h00 for all the distances and there is R170 000 worth of prizes for winners.
