Did you know that, unlike most municipalities, in CDM—“the home of excellence and opportunities for a better life”—things work a little differently? While many municipalities struggle to find common ground between labour and leadership, in CDM, progress is order of the day.It’s no wonder we have achieved a “Clean Audit,” the focus is on pushing forward and ensuring that the most crucial stakeholders, the workers, are always at the heart of every decision. This commitment to teamwork was recently shown in yet another stride as the leadership of the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU), led by Chairperson Simon Makosho, joined the Executive Mayor and officially registered for the CDM 4-IN-ONE Marathon.
With enthusiasm and shared dedication, they pledged their support and participation, proving that teamwork isn’t just for boardrooms—it’s for finish lines too!
This strong partnership between labour and leadership in CDM sets an example for other municipalities to follow, demonstrating that when everyone works together towards a common goal, success is inevitable. The campaign took place on 05 February 2025 at Mall of the North in Polokwane.
