All municipalities under Capricorn District Municipality were able to receive awards at SALGA Awards. CDM was awarded for sustaining the Unqualified Audit Opinion while Molemole and Blouberg were amongst municipalities that were awarded for spending 100% on already received and more additional Municipal Infrastructure Grants (MIG).Lepelle-Nkumpi and Polokwane Municipalities were awarded for progressing or improving their Audit Opinions to Unqualified Audit Opinion. This happened during the South African Local Government (SALGA) 2022/2023 Municipal awards which took place at Fusion Boutique on 19 March 2023 at Fusion Botique Hotel in Polokwane. The excellence awards are bestowed upon Municipalities in Limpopo Province for their outstanding performance in the 2022/2023 financial year.
The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo was directing the programme at the Municipal Gala Awards. MEC for CoGHSTA, Honourable Makamu represented the Premier of Limpopo and was accompanied by MEC for Finance, Honourable Sekoati, Chairperson of SALGA in Limpopo and Polokwane Local Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr John Mpe, and other dignitaries.
