The Chairperson of the Capricorn District Municipality Aids Council, Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo officially handed over appointment letters to the new Civil Society Members during the DAC meeting which took place on 22 March 2024 at CDM Council Chamber in Polokwane.The new members were elected from 14 various sector leaders such as Youth, Women, Children, Faith Based, Non-Government Organization, etc. The members will serve the committee for a period of five years. The committee is chaired by Reverend Awedzani Nemaukwe who is also a Co-Chair of the District Aids Council. Rev. Nemaukwe was re-elected as the chairperson of the Civil Society Committee.
The DAC quarterly meeting to focused on issues in line with the DAC plan of action as adopted by Council. The presentations at the meeting included District 3rd quarter report, progress report on the Multi-sectoral District Implementation Plan and appointment of new members of Civil Society Sector Leaders.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo as the Chairperson of the District Aids Council, Rev Awedzani Nemaukhwe, as the Deputy Chairperson, other members of the Council and Municipal Managers.
