CDM MEETS COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF WARD 02 AT BLOUBERG MUNICIPALITY TO ADDRESS WATER CHALLENGES.

on 08 April 2025, the CDM team met with representatives from Ward 02 at Blouberg Municipality, to discuss the ongoing water challenges faced by villages in the ward. The affected villages include Schoengezicht A, Schoengezicht B, Branan, Gemarke, Mokumuru, and Ga-Lekgwara.
The water challenges stem from a variety of issues, such as an increase in the number of households, which has led to insufficient water supply, geographical limitations that prevent water from reaching certain areas, and damaged water infrastructure.
However, there is some positive news: Branan is expected to receive water soon, as construction work to supply the area with water has been completed. The community is now waiting for the electrification of the system to fully implement the water supply.
Despite the challenges, some community members expressed their gratitude, acknowledging that they do receive water supply in their areas.
The municipality has committed to investigating these challenges further and finding both immediate and long-term solutions. Additionally, they have promised to engage other relevant stakeholders to assist where necessary.
