CDM hold a sort turning ceremong for sanitation projects

On 16 April 2021 Capricorn District Municipality officially held a sort turning ceremony of the Sanitation projects at Blouberg and Molemole Local Municipalities. The Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) funded projects namely Capricorn Household Sanitation – Blouberg Sanitation and Molemole Sanitation, are six months projects that will be implemented in various villages within Blouberg and Molemole Local Municipalities.
The R6,88 million project for Blouberg and R6,46 million for Molemole commenced today, 16 April 2021 and were estimated to be  complete by 22 October 2021. The villages to benefit in Blouberg are Mosehleng – 225, Welgelegen A – 59, Welgelegen B-91 and Terbrugge Farm – 140. In Molemole the project will benefit Masehlong with 257 Sanitation and Mohlajeng with 258.
“We are here to handover and officially introduce the team that will be responsible for implementation of the project. We do this officially to ensure that, in the spirit of District Development Model (DDM), we value the role of local municipalities in our existence. We cannot be a district without our locals”, said Cllr Sammy Selamolela MMC for LED, representing the Executive Mayor Cllr John Mpe.
“Sanitation is dignity, this project will go a long way towards preserving the dignity of our people. We expect the implementing agents to do an exceptional job”, said Chief Whip of CDM Cllr Matome Masoga.
“We are very excited as Blouberg Municipality to be the recipient of this dignified program. This is a promise come true for our people as they requested for Sanitation during our consultation meetings”, said Mayor of Blouberg Cllr Maseka Pheedi.
Mayor of Molemole Cllr Masilo Paya shared the same sentiments and urged the community through the project steering committees to work together with the contractors to make sure the project is completed on time as per the scope of work
