Youth Empowerment Drive held in Mankweng

“We gather here today to give empowerment to young minds and find lasting solutions to challenges that hamper youth development and achieve our economic transformation agenda for youth, with literacy programmes, young people will take time to access information about funding and other opportunities for better life”. These were the words of Member of Mayoral Committee for Strategic Executive Management Services, Cllr. Jara Masubelele.

Cllr. Masubelele was speaking on behalf of CDM’s Executive Mayor Cllr. John Mpe. Cllr. Masubelele was speaking during a Youth Empowerment Drive event held at Mankweng on 09 June 2021.

The event was aimed at sharing information and encouraging the youth to stand up and look for businesses and look for funding or any other assistance.

Institutions that were there to share information with the youth on how they can explore opportunities from them were, Department of Labour, LEDET, National Youth Development Agency, SAYCC, Dithipe Development Institution, Activate Change Drivers, Young Women in Business Forum, Cotton SA and Limpopo Youth Directorate.

The event is part of CDM’s youth month programme which will be rolled out throughout the month of June. The youth month programme was launched on 02 June 2021 at Ramokgopa.
