Capricorn District Municipality join the nation in celebration of the youth month. The district municipality commenced with a Youth Development Consultative and Empowerment Imbizo programme that will be taking place in all four local municipalities Molemole, Lepelle-Nkumpi, Polokwane and Blouberg.
The Imbizo started at Motswapo Community Hall at Botlokwa in Molemole Municipality on 20 June 2017. The programme aimed at empowering young people about economic transformation opportunities brought together youth from diverse backgrounds, structures and formations.
The consultative imbizo saw young people engaging in debates and making valuable inputs on the topics discussed during commissions. There were focusing on five strategic objectives namely:

Youth Development Mainstreaming,

Youth Economic Participation and Transformation,

Youth Nation-Building and Social Cohesion,
-
Youth Education Skills Development and Training,
-
Youth Health and Substance Abuse reduction.
The consultative imbizo that was led by Chief Whip Cllr Calvin Masoga has been organised in partnership with National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Office of the Premier and South African Local Government Association (SALGA). This year, 2017, Capricorn District Municipality has been the proud host of the provincial youth day celebration that was held at The Chuene Resort in Polokwane Municipality on 16 June 2017.
