The Executive Mayor introduced “Operation Theeletsa”

The Executive Mayor of CDM, Cllr J Mpe has introduced a programme called “Operation Theeletsa” which is aiming at listening to people. As part of this programme, today he met with the traditional leaders who are directly elected to serve in CDM Council in terms of section 81 (2)(a) of the local government municipal structures Act, 1998 (Act 117 of 1998). The names of the Magoshi have been published in the provincial gazette to serve in the proceedings of the district council for the period of five years which is linked to term of office of the current leadership. The composition of the traditional leaders as per the schedule 6 of the Act is as follows:

Moshate wa Dikgale, Moletji, Kibi, Seakamela, Manthata, Ditou machidi, Ndlovu Ledwaba, Bakgaga ba Mothapo, Bahananwa

 

Cllr Mpe who was accompanied by Speaker and Chirf Whip gave an ear to traditional leaders who were also tabling some of the frustrations that Meshate are faced with. Issues were around water, roads, electricity, seating allowances and travel claims, training and many more other issues. As the Mayor concluded, he promised to strengthen the intergovernmental Relations (mayors IGR) and that special visits will be undertaken with all our 27 Meshates.
