SOCIAL COHESION DIALOGUE AND CRIME AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Speaking during the event Cllr. Makgalemele Makhura encouraged the community to work with the police to fight crime and other social ills that are a thorn in the community. The event was aimed at addressing the high rate of substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, common assault and domestic violence in society.

The youth of the country is hard hit by the problem of substance abuse, which affect their academic performance, families and communities. The day started with a raid at the local tuck shops where undesirable grocery items where confiscated.
