The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr Mamedupi Teffo met with Sibanye-Stillwater to receive the Honeysucker truck which will operate within Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality around the village of Hwelereng and the surrounding villages. This was part of the Public Private Partnership agreement which was signed earlier this year, 2024, between the two organizations. The handover took place on 02 May 2024 at CDM Head Office in Polokwane.A partnership that was fruitful towards community development, has been demonstrated between Sibanye- Stillwater and Capricorn District Municipality in the endeavor to serve the communities. The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo led the handover of Honeysucker Truck proceedings together with Mr Victor Tseka Superintendent Community Engagement Development.
The R1,4 million truck will be servicing the community of Hwelereng and surrounding areas, where the mine is operating. The Mine Committee was also available to witness the handover. CDM, through its fleet management department, will be responsible for servicing and maintenance of the truck.
