Polokwane Municipality and Capricorn District Municipality represented by Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Development Planning and Environmental Management Service (DPEMS), Cllr Matome Masoga bid farewell to the brave runners from Limpopo gearing up for the epic Comrades Marathon.On Sunday, 9 May 2024, these athletes will embark on the grueling up-run from Durban to Pietersburg with resilience and determination. MMC for Sports Art and Culture, Cllr Makhura extended words of encouragement to the runners. She appreciated their contribution towards a healthy lifestyle and also that they loyally take part in the CDM 4-IN-1 Comrade Marathon and Two Oceans qualifier in the district and Polokwane City Marathon with no failure. “We al the best as you embark on this gruesome journey,” said Cllr Makhura.
The send-off gala took place on 01 June 2024 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
