ROSENKRANTZ VILLAGE CELEBRATES A NEW WATER PROJECT

“With this handover, we are confident that we will meet our target of ensuring 100% access to portable water in this area. We are therefore gathered here today in our collective resolve to continue with these efforts of enhancing the quality of life for residents and citizens of Capricorn District” MMC Cllr Selamolela said during official handover of water project held on 15 March 2023 at Rosenkrantz Village, Ga-Matlala under Blouberg Local Municipality .
Rosenkrantz water project started in 2022 at the tune of R42 746 541 million. It has temporarily employed 43 community people and local subcontractors also benefited by rendering services such as catering, provision of toilets, and backfilling.
The project involved the construction of a water pipeline that will benefit 300 households. We have constructed a 30 700m pipeline for pumping to the main reservoirs and reticulation with different diameters. The project also involved equipping 4 boreholes and electrification of 2 boreholes with good quality water and the construction of 450m clear view fence for borehole and storage facilities to protect and safeguard our boreholes.
We have also installed and electrified water treatment package plant that can release 500kl per day. About 2500 people in this community will have access to water from their yard-connected taps.
Cllr Selamolela also urged the community about the need to take responsibility for the safeguarding of our infrastructure.
