Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) hosted its final stakeholder engagement session on the Draft Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for the 2026/2027–2030/2031 financial years.
Councillor Sammy Selamolela, acting on behalf of the Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, delivered a presentation outlining the municipality’s work, with specific focus on the budget and related policies.
In his address, Cllr Selamolela encouraged young people to actively participated in initiatives that contributed to community development and the achievement of long-term goals. He further urged the youth to refrain from engaging in criminal activities, emphasizing that such actions could negatively impact their future opportunities and personal growth.
During the session, various inputs, inquiries, and comments were presented and discussed by community groups, including the elderly and people living with disabilities. These contributions provided valuable insights and helped shaped a way forward, ensuring that the concerns and priorities of all community members were taken into consideration in the development of the Integrated Development Plan.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Chief Whip of Council, Cllr Matome Masoga, following responses and replies from the Acting Executive Mayor.
