MPAC Public Participation on 2016/17 Draft Annual Report a success

Capricorn District Municipality is today having the Municipal Public Account Committee (MPAC) Public Participation on the Draft 2016/2017 Annual Report. The well attended public participation session is held at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane.

The session chaired by Cllr Paulina Makgato is held as per public notice issued in in terms of Section 21 (a) of the Municipal Systems Act No. 32 of 2000 of a Public Participation on 2016/17 Draft Annual Report as well as other financial management and governance issues covering the period (2016/17 financial year). 

Opening the session MPAC Chairperson Cllr Pauline Makgato appealed for maximum participation from all stakeholders. The purpose of the session was outlined by Speaker of Council Cllr Nakedi Lekganyane with MMC for Finance Cllr Blanco Boloka representing the Executive Mayor Cllr John Mpe.

Cllr Boloka presented the 2016/2017 Draft Annual Report to the public for deliberations and comments. In his presentation Cllr Boloka emphasised the achievements registered in the financial year including the Unqualified Audit opinion as indicated by the Auditor General of South Africa, hosting of the first 4-IN-One Comrade Marathon and Two Oceans qualifier, 100 % expenditure on the Municipal Infrastructure Grant and more.

The session was attended by Magoshi within the district including member of Parliament Kgoshi Setlamorago Thobejane, Kgoshi Seakamela, Kgoshi Mathabatha, Kgoshigadi Mamabolo and representatives from other traditional leaders.
