The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi met with Magesi FC as part of strengthening relations with the newly PSL promoted team. The meeting took place on 21 August 2024 at CDM Council Chamber in Polokwane.CDM plays a significant role in the coordination of Sports, Arts and Culture programs in the district in line with its Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
The club was formed in 2011 and is located in Kgabo Park in Moletji which falls under Polokwane in the district.
The club was recently promoted to the Betway Premiership previously DSTV with three games to end the season in May 2024. The club came with players and technical officials. Players and technical officials of the club are recruited from many parts of the world including fitness trainer Pedro Piccardo from Brazil, players like Elvis Chipezeze who is the Team Captain and Edmore Chirambadare from Zimbabwe amongst others.
It has also players from Capricorn and Moletji like John China Managa from Ga-Mashashane, Thuli Masegela from Moletji Ga-Piti, Baloyi Zela Bafedile from Zebediela amongst others.
The Executive Mayor appreciated the visit of the club and encouraged that the relationship should always be maintained.
