Learners proud of EM gesture to give them school shoes

“I’m happy and feel proud of the Executive Mayor’s gesture of giving us school uniform this will motivate us to work even harder and complete our studies.” These were words of appreciation from Pinky Mahlo, a grade 9 learner from Manoshi High School at Ga-Molepo directed to the Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr John Mpe.

The Executive Mayor Cllr. John Mpe, handed  over school uniform to over fifty learners at Manoshi High School and Sehlale Primary School, both at GaMolepo. “I have decided to use my 50th birthday year, 2020, of which the exact birth date is on 17 March 2020, to give back to the community. I am targeting learners from child headed house holds, starting at GaMolepo, as my home village”, said Executive Mayor addressing the beneficiaries.

The Exevutive Mayor added that he will also be celebrating with senior citizens where there will be activities lined up for that day. He is doing this in celebration of his 50th birthday and the clean audit that the municipality has achieved. He mentioned that CDM is the only municipality out of the 26 municipalities in the Limpopo Province that has received a clean audit. The Executive Mayor will identify one or two schools in the other municipalities where the same thing will be done.

He handing over was held on 26 February 2020 at Ga-Molepo in Polokwane Local Municipality.
