LAUNCH OF SCHOOL BASED VOTER EDUCATION DRIVE

CDM joined Limpopo Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, IEC, and Home Affairs officials in launching a school-based voter Education Drive on 19 February 2024.
The initiative is aimed at conscientizing learners about the importance of democracy by exercising their rights to vote. The drive is targeting mainly grade 11 & 12 learners in highly enrolled schools. The drive will run in all the schools in the 10 education districts in the Province to ensure that no eligible learner is left behind.
The delegation visited Bokamoso Secondary School (Seshego) and Flora Park Secondary School in Polokwane. All schools are in the Polokwane Municipal area.
The MEC joined by the delegation also took the opportunity to launch the SGB elections at Nirvana Primary School. The term of office for SGBs expires this year, and elections are expected to take place in schools, throughout the province.
