INDUCTION SEMINAR FOR COMMUNITY SAFETY FORUM

Capricorn District Municipality hosted an induction seminar for District Community Safety Forum (CSF) members at Polokwane Royal Hotel in Polokwane on 29 November 2022.
The forum is made up of community members across four local municipalities in the district who are passionate about serving the community with regard to safety issues. The aim of the forum is to ensure that our communities are safe and also to strengthen and fight against crime in communities by working together with law enforcement officers from various institutions such as police, traffic, security officers, etc. The induction covered various issues with presentations received from LEDET, Department of Transport and Community Safety, South African Police Services and other.
The induction seminar was attended by Councilors, Community Policing Forum, CDM Municipal Health, Department of Education, Department of Correctional Services, LEDET and other sector departments. Representing the Executive Mayor was MMC for Sports, Arts and Culture Cllr Hilda Makhura who appreciated the work done by CSF members in communities.
“Our role as municipalities is to inspire them to fight crime and ensure safety and security in our villages and towns” she said.
All municipalities have already launched their Local Safety Forums and they all forms part of the District Safety Forum.
