Speaking at the session, the MEC for the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET) honorable Rodgers Monama said, “we are passionate and at the heart of the development of small business in Limpopo, especially when it involves young people who have the energy and drive to rebuild our economy brick by brick, mortar by mortar, until the economy can stand on its feet and creates jobs for our populace”.
He said that as the department, they acknowledge the difficulties, small enterprises face, and they are determined to support as many small business owners as possible. “This is part of the Economic Recovery Plan which is the plan and part of the solution to rebuilding the economy. We will continue to work together with our private partners through Public Private Partnership” MEC Monama said.
The Acting Executive Mayor, Cllr Calvin Masoga together with MEC Monama, Mayor of Blouberg, Cllr Maria Thamaga and representative of the Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality, Cllr Puleng Mashangoane gave SMMEs that have been working with CDM a token of appreciation for their contribution to the development of SMMEs in the district. The LED business session took place on 02 December 2022 at the Park Inn Hotel in Polokwane. The session was attended by businesses that were working with the government in various sectors such as construction, tourism, education, mining and others.
