IFFD BUILD-UP ACTIVITY AT GA-RAMOKGOPA

Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Community Services Cllr Elizabeth Rahlana led the International Fire Fighters Day (IFFD) Build-Up awareness campaign at Botlokwa Ga-Ramokgopa Moshate under Molemole Local Municipality on 16 April 2025.
The purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness and educate the community about safety in fire, municipal health, environmental management, disaster management and community safety.
Various departments made presentations to the community gathered at Ramokgopa Traditional Council Hall.
Capricorn District Municipality and Ramokgopa Traditional Council planted a tree at Moshate as part of ‘My tree, my oxygen’ campaign. As part of the campaign the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environmental and Tourism donated 10 trees to Moshate to plant around the traditional offices.
“This is important for protecting the environment and demonstrates commitment to sustainability. We are indeed playing our part and contribute to reforestation efforts in our district,” said Cllr Elizabeth Rahlana planting a tree called Trichilia emetica, Natal Mahogany.
Trichilia emetica is an indigenous tree in the family Meliaceae, commonly known as the Natal mahogany. It is an evergreen tree, with handsome glossy dark green leaves and a wide spreading crown. Its sweet-scented flowers attract bees and birds.
