The leadership of Capricorn District Municipality, led by the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Corporate Services, Cllr. Sammy Selamolela, arrived at Landmark Lodge on 08 April 2026 for a consultation with Makgoshi on the Draft 2026/2027–2030/31 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget. Cllr. Selamolela stood in for the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo.
The Capricorn District Municipality held an IDP consultation session with traditional leaders to present the draft 2026/2027–2030/31 IDP, including proposed strategies, projects, and the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) budget.
The engagement aligned with the Municipal Systems Act, 32 of 2000, which promotes participatory governance and requires municipalities to undertake annual IDP reviews.
Cllr. Sammy Selamolela presented the draft document, while traditional leaders provided inputs on key issues such as spatial planning, heritage, and tourism development. Makgoshi emphasised the need for improvements in these areas.
Cllr. Selamolela assured the traditional leaders that all inputs would be considered during the finalisation of the IDP.
The municipality was scheduled to host a further consultation on 09 April 2026 at Landmark Lodge, engaging the business sector and academic institutions.
End.
