IDP Consultation process held with stakeholders

Capricorn District Municipality met with Traditional leaders to solicite inputs for the Draft IDP/Budget 2019/2020 on 02 April 2019 at  Polokwane Royal Hotel. On the same date a consultation meeting was later held with the business sector and academic institutions. As part of the consultation with  stakeholders the municipality also engaged sector departments, parastatals, Non Governmental Organisations, and Community Based Organisations at Bolivia Lodge on 01 April 2019. The municipality consulted with these stakeholders to get their inputs and comments on the 2019/2020 Integrated Development Plan and Budget.

The notice for the consultation was given in terms of Section 25 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000) and Section 22 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003). The council approved the Draft IDP/Budget for 2019/2020 financial year at a council meeting held on 28th March 2019 at 10h00 at the Council Chamber.

In terms of the IDP Process Plan, the municipality can only commence with the IDP Consultation process once the Draft IDP has been approved by Council. The consultation process is a platform to seek inputs and comments from various stakeholders on the document before it can be forwarded to Council for final approval. Inputs incoparated into the final document are gathered during the consultations and others forwarded in writing to the Municipal Manager. Comments and inspection is for 21 days, from 29th March 2019 to 30th April 2019.
