Capricorn District Municipality has convened Organisational Strategic Planning Session taking place at Zebula Lodge as from 03-04 April 2019. The two days planning session has been combined with the District Lekgotla, which seek to join heads, review and consolidate plans for the year ahead and take the institution forward.
In his opening address, the Executive Mayor Mpe said ‘We are pleased that this planning session and Lekgotla comes at a time when we are finalising our Budget/ IDP consultation process and when national and provincial spheres of government are preparing for the 6th administration of our democratic government which will start during the month of May”.
He emphasized that at the end of this intensive session of deliberations, we should be clear on the direction we want the district and the province to take in the foreseeable future. “In fact, our gathering here today should be an indispensable school of shared learning, a common compass and a platform of mutual accountability” he said.
He commended all for being at the session to represent provincial government and municipalities including the Traditional Leadership. “We hope this gathering will come up with solutions to challenges in matters of governance and service delivery that municipalities still face, with particular emphasis on our common approach to financial management and audit” he concluded .
