HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN HELD AT GA-KIBI

“Health awareness in communities is a critical issue that needs to be managed. It is therefore important to create awareness about communicable diseases, to prevent outbreaks” Cllr MM Mohale, MMC for Infrastructure said as she represented the Executive Mayor .
It is for this reason that CDM and Blouberg Municipality in this Public Service Week got the communities of Ga-Kibi and surrounding areas together, to educate them about this subject as part of the municipalities’ health awareness campaign, The theme for the awareness campaign is “Strengthening environmental health, for the implementation of sustainable development goal.”
Communities were educated about health issues as they affect them in the communities where they live. Officials also shared information about diseases such as cholera, typhod fever etc.
Cultural groups were also at the event not just to entertain the community but also to support the event, which happened to take place during the heritage month.
September marks Public Service Month in South Africa. Public Service Month (PSM) is an integrated strategic national event in the calendar of the Department of Public Service and Administration. It serves as a reminder of what it means to serve communities and to also look at the impact the government has, especially around issues of service delivery. The month is celebrated under the theme, ‘Working together we can do more to bring integrated  government services to the people’.
