HANDING OVER OF NEW SITE FOR WATER PROJECT

The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo led a delegation from the municipality visiting Ga-Mphahlele Moshate to brief the Mphlahlele Traditional Authority about the new site handover of the water project for Bolatsane and Maleka villages at Ga-Mphahlele under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality. Accompanied by the Ward Councilor for Ward 23 in Lepelle Nkumpi Local Municipality Cllr Mamashele Makgahlele, after the briefing she proceeded to Maleka and Bolatsane villages were she met with the community in the two villages respectively to introduce the contractors who will be responsible for implementing the water projects.
The Executive Mayor indicated that the projects were funded through WSIG and the scope of work for the project included among others the construction of bulk water supply pipeline, water regulation system, installation of standpipes, and elevated steel tanks. The Maleka Water Supply and Bolatjane Water Supply projects estimated costs are at R9,8 million and R11,62 million respectively
.

The Executive Mayor appealed to the community to work with the municipality and the contractor to ensure that the project is implemented within the estimated timeframe of seven months and protect the project against vandalism. The community appreciated the project and promised to work together to ensure the project is not hindered. The project visit took place on 11 August 2023.
