On 02 February 2025, the Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, visited the Mokobodi family in Boslaagte village to pay her respects to the late former Mayor of the then Aganang municipality, Cllr Maria Mokobodi.She was accompanied by Members of the Mayoral Committee, Blouberg Mayor Cllr Maria Thamaga and her Chiefwhip, as well as a representative from Moshate wa Ga-Matlala.
The entire district is mourning the loss of this dedicated public servant who unfortunately passed away last week after a short illness.
Cllr Maria Mokobodi was not only a committed leader but also a member of the African National Congress and an Executive Committee (Exco) in the Blouberg Municipality. She was known for her passion and active involvement in improving the lives of people and delivering basic services.
Her legacy will continue to live on through the positive changes she made in the community. The Executive Mayor’s visit to offer condolences not only showed her respect for Mme Mokobodi, but also highlights the impact she had on those she served.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and her dedication and commitment to her role as a leader will always be remembered.
She will be laid to rest on the 8th February 2025 at Boslaagte village and her memorial service will be on 06 February 2025 at the same place.
