Given the Clean Audit status achieved by the district municipality, the Executive Mayor presented to the meeting an overview of Capricorn District Municipality and its local municipalities namely Blouberg, Molemole, Lepelle-Nkumpi and Polokwane.
“As a district, our financial status reflects a positive ratio across all local municipalities. We are confident in our collective efforts,” stated Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo during her presentation to the NEC.
She emphasized that the audit outcomes reflect good governance, improved service delivery, strong stakeholder relations, and a dedicated workforce. Additionally, she addressed key issues, including Eskom debt, the rollover of electricity meter resets, political stability, and indigent levels.
The President of SALGA, Cllr Bheke Stofile, commended Limpopo municipalities for their progress in several areas despite facing numerous challenges.
Other district municipalities, namely Vhembe, Mopani, Waterberg and Sekhukhune, also presented their reports.
