Seshego Stadium came alive today as the Capricorn District Municipality (CDM), in partnership with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, hosted the District Active Ageing Activities — a vibrant celebration of fitness, fun, and community spirit among senior citizens.
Elderly participants from across the district’s local municipalities showcased their remarkable energy and enthusiasm through various sporting codes, including soccer, relays, jukskei, and ball throws. Laughter and excitement filled the air as they also engaged in light-hearted activities such as the duck walk and dress-up games, proving that staying active and joyful knows no age limit.
Representing the Executive Mayor, MMC for Sport, Cllr. Makgalemele Makhura, commended the elderly for being custodians of wisdom, tradition, and family values. She emphasized that the programme serves as a token of appreciation for their lifelong contributions to building strong families, resilient communities, and a united district.
The District Active Ageing Activities continue to promote health, wellness, and social inclusion, reminding all generations that age is merely a number when the spirit remains young.
