Capricorn District Municipality took the Disaster Awareness Campaign to learners in the Blouberg Local Municipality, following a successful disaster awareness competition on Blouberg FM.The campaign reached Sedibeng Pre-School & Crèche in Schoerlen Village, Rachacha Pre-School in Kwarung Village, and Sethunya Primary School in Sekhung Village.
A special thank-you goes to Blouberg FM loyal listeners Margareta Manaka, Maphuti Tlouamma, and Khomotso Mashalane, whose participation made it possible to bring disaster safety education to their communities.
The school additionally received fire extinguishers, a fire blanket, and a goodie bag to help strengthen fire and disaster preparedness in their schools.
We also acknowledge the LEDET for donating five indigenous trees to each institution, adding a meaningful contribution to environmental awareness and school greening efforts. The awareness took place on 14 November 2025.
