The Department of Agriculture engaged in a G20 consultation meeting with Capricorn District Traditional Leaders at the Ranch Hotel on 30 April 2025, aimed at promoting inclusive governance and community driven development.The consultation brought together government officials, and traditional authorities to discuss key issues such as sustainable development, food security, and climate resilience. The meeting provided a platform for traditional leaders to share insights and experiences, highlighting the importance of local knowledge in addressing global challenges.
A key moment during the consultation was Thapsana Molepo from Department of Agriculture’s presentation on the preparations of the upcoming Meetings of Agriculture Scientists(MACS) that is soon to be hosted in South Africa. The consultation also helped in ensuring that traditional voices are included in shaping future G20 agendas.
