On 03 December 2025, the Speaker of Council, Cllr Kholofelo Lehong, was delighted to receive a Certificate of Excellence from the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Women’s Commission in appreciation of the excellent oversight work done by council.The certificate was officially presented by the Chairperson of the District Multi-Party Women Commission (MPWC), Cllr Sandra Kekana, who received it on behalf of the Speaker during the SALGA Women’s Commission session. The Speaker was unable to attend due to study commitments.
CDM received this Certificate of Excellence in recognition of its achievement of a clean audit opinion for 2023/24, made possible through strong political and financial oversight.
