Cllr Rahab Masekwameng was elected as the Chairperson of the Capricorn District Municipality Multi-Party Women Caucus which was held at CDM Council Chamber on 12 August 2022.The main purpose of multi party women caucus is to bring together women councillors from all political parties, empower and make a room for their voice to be heard as women.
The election process took place under the guidance of the District Commissioner, Cllr Maria Mokobodi – the former mayor of the dis-established Aganang Local Municipality.
All political parties in Council submitted the names of Councillors who will be working alongside the Chairperson to Office of the Speaker. The establishment of the caucus is in line with the terms of reference as guided by South African Local Government Association (SALGA).
