CDM WELCOMES THE NEW MUNICIPAL MANAGER

Mr Selepe has been appointed on a five-year contract. He has over twenty years working in the public service. Mr Selepe was a Director for Community Services at Polokwane Municipality from August 2017 until his time of resignation when he joined CDM. From February 2017 he was absorbed by the same municipality as a Director for Corporate and Shared Services, when Aganang Municipality was dissolved.

He also held the position of Acting Municipal Manager at Polokwane Municipality to assist the new council which was elected in 2021 until his time of resignation.

Before joining Polokwane Municipality, he was a Municipal Manager at the former Aganang Municipality for a period of eight years. He also worked as a Senior Manager for the Limpopo Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, and Department of Health and Social Development. Selepe is not new at CDM. He worked as a Manager for Corporate Services at the municipality from February 2006 until July 2007.

Selepe holds a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Political Science from the University of Limpopo, a Certificate in Municipal Finance Management, a Certificate in Executive Leadership Municipal Development Programme from the University of Pretoria.

During the welcoming by the Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo, said that the municipality welcome Selepe, and appreciate that despite all opportunities that were available to him, he chose to join CDM. “We hope that with the vast experience that you are bringing, you will lead this team of men and women to the right direction,” said Cllr. Teffo.

“We welcome you Mr. Selepe. We know you are not new to the local government. You are now joining the district municipality, which has a record of performing clean in the books of the Auditor-General (AG) and which is a Water Services Authority (WSA). We hope that you will assist this municipality in maintaining its vision of a home of excellence and opportunities for a better life. We are grateful that you are joining our municipality” Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo said.

The district municipality also takes this opportunity to thank Ms. Molatelo Mashego who has been acting as the Accounting Officer since January 2022.

“We thank you for steering this administration very well, although it was not that easy. We urge all the Executive Managers to support our new MM and work very closely as a team” Cllr Teffo added.
