CDM WELCOMES NEW EMPLOYEES

On 04 May 2026, Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) welcomed two new employees to its team.
Robert Mdaka has been appointed as the Executive Manager for Corporate Services, effective May 2026. He brings extensive experience in local government, having previously served as Director for Corporate Services at Greater Giyani Municipality, where he also held several positions, including Spokesperson, Manager for Administration, Manager in the Office of the Mayor and Director Corporate Services.
Before joining CDM he worked at CDM’s sister municipality, Blouberg Municipality as a Director for Corporate Services.
Mdaka holds an LLB Degree from UNISA, as well as B.Com and B.Com (Honours) Degrees from the University of Venda. Given that CDM has consistently achieved clean audits in recent financial years, he expressed confidence in contributing to good governance and the professionalisation of local government. He is an admitted Attorney of the High Court.
Another key appointment is Kagiso Kganyago, who joins the municipality as a Senior Risk-Based Auditor. Prior to this role, she worked as an Assistant Accountant: Reporting and Statistics at Govan Mbeki Municipality, and also gained experience at the Auditor-General of South Africa.
Kganyago holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Limpopo and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Science from UNISA. She is also a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa).
“I am honored to be appointed as a Senior Risk-Based Auditor here. I look forward to adding value by strengthening internal controls, supporting effective risk management, and promoting transparency and accountability in support of improved service delivery,” said Kganyago.
