On 03 June 2021, Capricorn District Municipality visited Lesfontein and Ga-Manaka village to introduce the contractors for the water supply projects. These were two separate projects each to be implemented in villages situated within the Blouberg Local Municipality.
“We thank CDM for responding to our cry for water in the area. We believe the municipality will also create job opportunities for local people as they implement this project,” said Mr Molokomme.
Acting Mayor Cllr Maria Mokobodi said, “We are here to introduce the contractors that will be responsible for the water supply project in this area. We request that you work with the contractor, and allow them to do their work without interruptions. We hope and believe the project will be completed within the estimated time-frame.
We encourage our community to work together with the contractors to ensure smooth running and completion of projects on time,” said Mokobodi.
The handover was attended by traditional leaders in both villages, Councilors from Both CDM and Blouberg Local Municipality and the contractors.
