On the 26th July 2017, Capricorn District Municipality in partnership with Polokwane Municipality with business partners will host a special Mandela Day celebration by contributing 67 minutes of our time to create a conducive environment for children and elderly people.
Mamatsha village is located at Ga-Molepo just outside Polokwane. CDM has identified a centre that is used for community meetings, pension pay-point and crèche. It is an old dilapidated building that is being used for the three activities. CDM came to realize that this centre should be revamped and be converted into children’s park and the building be refurbished to cater for proper pension pay point and community meetings.
In partnership with business people the centre is taking a new shape, park has been created with variety of jungle gyms, the hall has been refurbished and palisades fence has been constructed. The Executive Mayor, Cllr John Mpe will be officially handing this centre to the community schedule as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 26 July 2017
Venue: Ga-Molepo – Mamatsha village (Ga-Ntona Sontaga)
In July every year, South Africa celebrates former President Nelson Mandela’s birthday. The 18th of July has been declared Nelson Mandela International Day, but as South Africans we embrace the chance to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s life for the whole of July. This gives everyone the opportunity to heed the call to action for people to recognise their individual power to make an imprint and change the world around them.
