These certificates serve as a vital stepping stone, enhancing opportunities for self-employment and income generation among participating youth.
The initiative also marks a strengthened partnership between CDM and Skills Panda, highlighting CDM’s commitment to youth development and providing practical exposure to the bakery and confectionery industry.
Through this program, CDM continues to empower young people with skills, knowledge, and opportunities that foster economic independence and community impact.
One of the graduates 22-year-old Waylin Fourie from Westernburg said, “I never thought I’ll enjoy baking, but my participation in this program has since birthed my love for confectionery, and this will take me forward in life.”
Delivering a motivational message to the graduates on behalf of CDM Executive Mayor, Cllr. Solly Mahlatji (Member of Mayoral Committee for Strategic Executive Management Services) had this to say, “We are committed to empowering youth through skills, entrepreneurship, and opportunity. Today you gain more than a certificate, you gain the power to build businesses, create income, and inspire others, so go out there and make your mark”.
