CDM scoops SALGA Awards, again

Capricorn District Municipality continues to live up to its vision as the ‘Home of Excellence’ after it scooped three awards at SALGA Municipal Audit Awards last night.
The municipality was recognised for its best practices in municipal audit; for sustaining clean audit and for 100% spending of Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG).
These awards give recognition to CDM’s excellence in having ensured that all money that was spent was accounted for; that there was no wasteful or fruitless expenditure and that no money was returned to National Treasury as a result of under-spending the MIG.
In accepting the awards, Acting Municipal Manager Ms Thuso Nemugumoni thanked all staff for the accolades. “It has always been a team effort. Congratulations to all of us”.
The newly-elected Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo acknowledged the awards and congratulated the Municipality for the recognition. “This confirms once again that indeed we are the Home of Excellence and a reverred point of benchmark for all Municipalities in this province and beyond”, she said.
CDM won the same awards last year in the same categories and the Municipality has been consistently doing exceptionally well in MIG spending in the last 5 years.
