Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) presented the Draft Water and Sanitation By-law and the Township Economy By-law to the community of Blouberg Cluster C, covering Wards 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 19. The presentation took place at the Inveraan Multi-Purpose Community Center in Inveraan Village, within Blouberg Local Municipality (BLM) on 12 March 2025.The primary objective of the by-laws presentation was to gather community input on key regulations aimed at addressing challenges such as vandalism, theft, and illegal water infrastructure connections. Additionally, the proposed Township Economy By-law seeks to create a regulatory framework to support and enhance local businesses.
This engagement was part of the Blouberg Municipality’s Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) Public Participation session on the 2023/24 Draft Annual Report.
During the session, Blouberg Mayor Cllr. Maria Thamaga officially presented the Draft Annual Report. Also in attendance were Blouberg Municipality Council Speaker Cllr. Blanco Boloka, MPAC Committee members, other Councillors and the CDM Operations and Maintenance team.
