CDM Pool wins gold at the 2019 IMSSA-SALGA Provincial games

Capricorn District Municipality wins gold in Pool at the 2019 IMSSA-SALGA Provincial games. The pool team took position one receiving both gold medals and a trophy for their sterling performance during the games held at Mahwelereng Stadium, Mogalakwena Municipality from 07 – 08 June 2019.

CDM upped its performance this year taking positon one in pool and position three in both table tennis and darts. The teams received the bronze medals. The table tennis team took position three with Polokwane named the overall winner followed by Greater Tzaneen in position two.

Thabitha Sema took position two in females’ singles category. It the doubles team, Thabitha Sema and Theresho Marakalala also took position two.

The darts teams took position three with Musina taking position one followed by Polokwane in position two. The volleyball team reached the semi-finals and netball the quarter finals. Soccer was eliminated during the group stages.

CDM was part of the 27th municipalities participating in the municipal wellness games held annually organised by the Inter-Municipal Sports of South Africa (IMSSA) in partnership with the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Limpopo Province.

The IMSSA-SALGA games are sports activities for employees working at various municipalities in the Limpopo Province. CDM participated in seven sporting codes namely soccer, netball, volleyball, pool, darts, golf and table tennis.
